Contest – “Y bots R…”
Tell us “Y bots R…” in ONLY 3 words captured in a photo.
Who can enter: Open to anyone.
How many entries? As many as you want (but keep it under 100 / person 
What do I do with my entry? Post it on our Facebook page: RoboRAVE International
How do I win? BASED ON LIKE VOTES via Facebook before April 26, 6:00pm MST
AWARDS: 1st place – $200; 2nd place – $100; 3rd place – $75; 4th place – $25
- Rule #1: Winners will be determined by the number of LIKES posted for their entry between NOW (2.26.13 8:30a MST til 4.26.13 6:00p MST)
- Rule #2: All entries must be 3 words ONLY (no less, no more) that express your: excitement, amazement, love for, interest in, fear of, use with, ‘just how awesome is that’ attitude about robots (of any kind, etc, etc, etc IN a photo of the robot concept your expressing. Your 3 words may or may not be shown with the concept or robot that your writing about…but it is encouraged..BE CREATIVE
- Rule #3: All entries must be posted on RoboRAVE International CONTEST “Y bots R…” Album to be official
- Rule #4: Email your photo containing your 3 words to: contest@gotoif.org; We’ll post your entries….so keep an eye on our album..
- Rule #5: No limit on the number of entries per person or group of people if you’d like to play as a team

As of March 30, 2013 – team spaces AVAILABLE:
- If a challenge is filled, you will be placed on a waiting list;
- If a division does not use all spaces allotted, then those spaces will be used for the teams on the waiting list.

UPDATE 3.30.13 – HB25, SB150 and CAPITAL OUTLAY
CAPITAL OUTLAY details: (this effort is seeking MATERIALS for schools)
We (Inquiry Facilitators, Inc.) submitted capital outlay requests asking for $320,000 to be given to the NM PED to do this:
To purchase and deliver robot equipment and related support materials for NM public school robot education programs that will participate at the annual international robot competition in Albuquerque.
As of 3.16.13: $298,357 was allocated for robotics.
Update on HB25 and SB150: Funding is in the general budget bill, HB2, to go to Eastern NM University to support workshops that will train teachers and students to design, build, program, and test robots for the international robot competition being held in Albuquerque, May 2014.
NOW, it is up to the Governor to SIGN the HB2, without doing a line item veto, for the funding by April 6th.

History:
Inquiry Facilitators, Inc secured NM PED $322,000 from the 2012 legislature…but NM Public Schools requested ~ $1,200,000 for robotics. So Inquiry Facilitators, Inc is asking the NM Legislators to award the NM PED another $320,000 again this year and will ask for the same amount in 2014. NOTE: The Capital Outlay funds DO NOT come to us…they go to the NM PED! The funds to ENMU will help us provide workshops, host the May 2014 international event, and manage the program throughout 2013-14 school year.
